The DASH Program
“A Good Day” with the DASH Program at BGCCC.
Through the generosity of the Harriet & Donald Meltzer Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County offers the DASH Program to dedicated Teen Club Members to learn the music business and the business of music. The Harriet & Donald Meltzer Foundation has committed to funding the Arts at the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County, in loving memory of Harriet Meltzer. Harriet’s legacy lives through the named Art Room and Music Lab that provide both learning and enjoyment to our Club Members and sound studio for the DASH Program.
The DASH Program, founded by Jerome Hipps & Michael McArthur, communicates to our Teens the business of music by providing a comprehensive look into the profession and opportunities both in front of and behind the scenes of the music industry. Master Instructors Ivan Barias & Kristal Oliver, teach about: management and legal, artist & repertoire, marketing, creative, sales, songwriting and composition, production, engineering, media training, show production, booking talent, distribution and retail in the music industry.
The amazing talent of the 2019 DASH Graduates was witnessed at the annual BE GREAT Extravaganza on February 21, 2019, where the Teens performed live, one of their hit songs, “A Good Day”, that they wrote, recorded and produced. The amount of talent in the group is remarkable. They impressed Susan Haspel, Boys & Girls Club of New Jersey, which led to the invite to perform at Six Flags in July 2019. We are sure this is not the last you will be seeing of these talented young people.
